Shura Hamdard

Hakim Mohammed Said had established the ‘Sham-e-Hamdard’, which became the most famous intellectual forum in Pakistan. It stood for national reconstruction ever since it commenced in 1961. Lectures on different topics were arranged every month in all the big cities of Pakistan viz. Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Peshawar under the banner of Sham-e-Hamdard.

In 1995 Hakim Mohammed Said converted ‘Sham-e-Hamdard’ into ‘Shura-e-Hamdard’ to provide an open platform to scholars for discussions and making suggestions to redress the problems facing by the nation.

Dialogues with a galaxy of prominent scientists, historians, culturists, educationists, writers, poets, physicians, intellectuals, scholars, lawyers, economists, jurists, journalists etc. were held from 1960 to 1994 in Sham-e-Hamdard. Now this has created a new forum called Shura Hamdard i.e. Hamdard Thinkers Forum. The eminent scholars of repute take part and deliberations are made on the burning topics of the country every month at Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
