Everybody in Pakistan is doubtless familiar with the name of Hamdard, which was established in Pakistan in 1948 by Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said. What everybody may possibly not be aware of is that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said transformed Hamdard Laboratories, in 1953, into an Islamic Waqf, “Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf)”, so that its entire profits go towards funding charitable, educational and nation-building activities.

  • Free consultation and medicine, through a network of clinics and mobile dispensaries throughout major cities of Pakistan;
  • Scholarships for students who merit them, either through brilliance or need;
  • Establishing Madinat al-Hikmah – the city of science, education and culture – at Deh Bund Murad, on the outskirts of Karachi. This houses the Hamdard Public School, Hamdard Village School (free), Hamdard University with its many faculties and Institutes, and Bait al-Hikmah, one of Asia’s largest libraries;
  • Stipends for various needy persons, such as poor widows, and grants to various national institutions;
  • Publications of journals and books on subsidized rates;
  • Cultural activities from the platform of Shura Hamdard and Naunehal Assembly;
  • Relief Programs

Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, being a charitable organization, has been performing welfare, charitable and educational activities since its establishment in 1964. We hope that through our sincere efforts and the help/guidance of Allah, we would achieve the objectives & dreams of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.

The core motto and philosophy of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan is service of humanity through medical, scientific, educational and cultural activities in furtherance of the legacy of ideas, values, mission and work of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.
